Aug. 08, 1960 - Arsenal Experiment With Radio-Soccer In Practice Game: Science in the shape of a midget radio receiver, came to soccer yesterday, Arsenal's first team were talked through a practice match against the reserves by their coach, Ron Greenwood. Each player wore a hearing-aid attached to a receiver strapped underneath the armpit, and Greenwood, sitting on the touch-line bench at the club's London Colney (Herts) training ground, whispered instructions into a microphone. Reception was only one way - the players couldn't answer back!
