Jul. 07, 1964 - Tottenhakm Hotspur Football Star Killed By Lighting Tragedy On A Golf Course: John White - Tottenham Hotspur's International inside - right was killed last evening by a single flash of lighting as he sgheltered from the heavy rain beneath a tree - on the crews Hill Golf Course, Enfield, Middlesex.The 26 year old player was driven to the course by his 23 year old wife Sandra while she went shopping her six months old baby. When she returned she was told of the tragedy by the police. Spurs bought White for 0, 000 from Falkirk in 1959. This season he would have fetched 00, 000 if spurs had wanted to sell him.
