Sep. 09, 1973 - Preparations for 1974 World Soccer Champonship in Frankfurt. the Technical core for transmitting all the news andscores of this highly favoured championship in sports is presently installed at the Hessische Rundfunk (broadcasting station) in Frankfurt. Authorized by the World Soccer Union for transmitting the news throughout the world, Germany's TV Stations the ARD and ZDF have vreated a local administration union, the German Olympia Center for Radio and TV Broadcasting'. The soccer championship which will begin next June, will take place in 9 different German cities, including Berlin. From Frankfurt's central transmission center the 38 games will be covered by live TV shows and radio reports. These news will go to about 100 TV and 200 Radio stations. Since all German postal lines as well as the ones of the European radio union cross at Frankfurt, this city has been choosen as ideal location for transmission.
