Dec. 12, 1953 - The apprentice of the former general-field-marshal Paulus refused a job in the Russian zone and went back to his home. After 10 years Russian prison-ship the former apprentice of general Paulus, the 40 years old saddler Erwin Schulte, returned home to Guterslohe. He refused to accept a job in the Russian zone which had been offered to him and returned to his family. Schulte had been long time the personal apprentice of Paulus when he lived in a villa in Moscow. Schulte told that Paulus mostly painted water-colours and oil-paintings, and visited very often the theatres ans spoke never abut politics at the station of Guterslohe where he had been a happy to Schulte by his wife and his 11 years old daughter Karin who never saw her father before
