Jul. 07, 1954 - Vladimir Petrov Attends Third Hearing Of Royal Commission On Espionage In Australia. Vladimir Mikhailovitch Petrov in the former Third Secretary at the Soviet Embassy in Melbourne made his first public appearance since being granted political asylum in Australia. Petrov and his wife - who was also granted political asylum - have made a number of disclosures regarding the operation throughout the world of the Soviet Spy System- at the Royal Commission on Espionage in Australia - which is being conducted by Mr. W.J.V Windeyer (QC) at the High court of Australia in Melborne.
