Mar. 31, 1958 - First Picture of the Soviet Rocket - Launched in May 1957. Pictures of the Soviet Rocket - that was sent into the outer atmosphere in May 1957 - have just been released by the Soviet Authorities. The rocket weighed 2200 kg. containing a dog Molniza - and reached the height of 212 km. It returned safely to earth. Photo shows The rocket after it had returned to earth - showing the dog Molniza'.
