Nov. 11, 1961 - New chief of Soviet police: Soviet news agency Tass announced that Alexander Sheljepin ( Sheljepin ) was succeeded on his poste as Chief of the State Security Service by Wladimir Semitshastny ( Wladimir Semitshastny ) - our picture. Sheljepin was appointed as a secretary of the Central Committee during the 22nd party conference of the Communist Party of the Su. Semitshastny was, so far, secretary of the Central Committee of the Komsomol and member of the Supreme Soviet
