Oct. 10, 1963 - American student released from imprisonment the Soviet Zone: After a 21 month imprisonment in the Soviet Zone american student Robert F. Mann was released yesterday (lo) in the evening from prison. Mr. Mann was arrested in January 1969 in the Soviet Sector of berlin when he was to a visit in Eastberlin. He was put in trial in a Soviet Sector court in july 62 and sentenced to 21 month imprisonment reportedly on changes of trying to help East-berlin students to escape to the West. Actually the changes preferred against Mr. have never been made public and his trial was held in camera. photo shows. Robert Mann in a press-conference on Westberlin (left).
