Sep. 09, 1967 - Kidnap Scientist Returns To The Russians After Home Secretary Receives Medical Reports: Russian scientist, Dr. Vladimir Tkachenko, 25, was handed back to the Soviet Embassy today at his own request. This dramatic move came after Mr. Roy Jenkins, the Home Secretary, had been handed medical reports on the scientist. Kachenko, looking very pale and ill, was helped from the car on arrival at the Soviet Embassy. The Russian scientist was removed by the British police from a Soviet airliner at London Airport on Saturday after he had been reported Kidnapped earlier in the day by Russian officials near the Soviet Embassy.
