Oct. 10, 1971 - The girl who called spy Oleg a Charmer': Amoung the girls that Oleg Lyalin the runaway Russian spy, who defected to Britain last week - and disclosing the names of over a hundred Russian spies working in Britain, is 20 year old Susan Woodthorpe, from high Cross, Tottenham, She said of Lyalin yesterday: I can't believe he was a spy. He made people laugh, and everybody treated him as an office boy. He was debonaire and charming and i must admit i was infatuated Susan, who spent three months as a receptionist at the Russian Import Export agency in Regent Street, went out for drinks regularly once of twice a week with Lyalin. She added: He was far too clumsy to be a spy, he would drop pencils, upset teacups and even trip over the doormat!.
