Nov. 12, 1980 - Dissident Soviet historian, Andrei Amalrik, 42, died last night in a car accident 40km north-east of Madrid. He had been in Spain for a conference on European security and cooperation. Since his exile in 1976, Andre Amalrik has been living in France. The end of the month would have been marked by the release of his new book
