Feb. 02, 1956 - Soviet Holds Press Conference on American Balloons Flying over Russian Territory: A press conference was held in Moscow recently by Colonel Taranasov during which he showed some of the assembled pressmen some of the equipment which he claimed was flown over Russian territory by American Balloons. The Balloons were all part of the American Meteorological system but the Colonel said that there was no trace of meteorological equipment only of cameras which he said photographed Soviet installations etc. Photo shows Colonel Tarasanov (in Uniform) seen as he stands in front of some of the American Met. equipment which he claims was used to photograph Russian installations etc
