Russia's second man in space
Mar 12, 1968; Rome, Italy; Russia's second man in space German Titov said with the utmost sincerity that he had no idea who would win the race to the moon. G.S. Titov told during a press conference held at the occasion of the electronics exposition. I am still very young said Titov who is 33 and so I hope I can go back up there again'. Titov completed 17 orbits in space Aug. 6-7, 1961. With him was a 20 man Soviet delegation to the Rome show. The picture shows a portrait of the Vice Director of USSR's Nuclear Institute Mr. S.
