Safety - steel toe-capped shoes

Mar. 03, 1955 - Industrial Health and Safety Centre in London: The Minister of Labour - Sir Walter Monckton this morning had a preview of the Industrial Health and Safety Centre which he is to open this evening at Horseferry Road. It is an exhibition of safety clothing of all types. Photo shows Miss A. Horne who is a factory inspector in South London District - demonstrates the safety in the steel toe protected women's shoes. She is dropping a Ten Pound hammer on to her toes with perfect safety. They are designed to withstand the weight of 150 lbs, dropped from 2ft. 6 ins. in height.
