Salvation Army to Elect New General. Members

May 05, 1974 - Salvation Army to Elect New General. Members of the Salvation Army High Council today met the Press at Sunbury Court, Sunbury onThames today. The High Council is the legally constituted body convened for the purpose of electing a new General.It will commence its first session tomorrow (May 4) and will be dissolved the moment a new General has been elected. The new international leader will succeed General Erik Wickberg who will retire from office on July 5th, the day preceding his seventieth birthday. The High Council comprises forty officers of several nationalities. Photo shows General view of today's Press conference at Sunbury House.
