Scene from Berlioz's Damnation of Faust, Paris Opera

Mar. 02 A Revolutionary Damnation of Faust presented at the Paris Opera. The Opera de Paris appointed Maurice Bejart, the famous author and choreographer, to stage the Damnation of Faust by Berlioz. The premiere of the opera will be held tomorrow evening and it is almost certain that some people will not like all they see. Maurice Bejart, without changing a single note from the original score, has conceived the Damnation like a ballet. He has incorporated in it a scene which makes a parody of the Last Supper painting by Leonardo Da Vinci, by having drunks participate in it.
