Scene at Dominican consulate, London, after shooting

Jul. 07, 1954 - Diplomat dies after shooting Drama in Dominican consulate in London: Don Luis Bernardino, the Consulate General of the Dominican Republic, died in hospital yesterday after a gun drama in his London Consulate. Lying in a critical condition at St. George's Hospital nearby is Captain Don Octavio de la Meza, Air Attache at the Embassy. Scotland Yard are trying to find the cause of the drama and it is hoped that diplomatic immunity will be waived by the Dominican Authorities so that Scotland Yard detectives can work on the case. Photo shows the scene outside the Consulate this morning after signs of the gun drama had been removed and men working on decorating the building replace the Dominican Plaque which reads Dios Patria Libertad which means God Country Liberty
