Scene near the Berlin Wall, Germany

Oct. 10, 1967 - The Face Of Modern Border In Berlin: The modern border took place for the houses which stood at the eastern part of Bernauer Strasse in Berlin-district of Wedding. The workers on the other side of the wall will finish their work in this days. Under the guarding eyes of heavy armed soldiers some workers have to paint the inside of the new wall white for a better shooting-light during the night. Also white coloured tank-barricades will give the modern border a friendly look. Photo shows A soldier of the NVA (national volks-army) in a light-tank on guard in the death-stripe
