Mar. 27 The Diary of Anne Frank. The Jewish girl Anne Frank aged 14 wrote a diary when she was hidden with her parents and other Jewish subjects in a garret of a house in Amsterdam to escape the former German secret police the so called Gestapo. At last the Gestapo found the Jews and took them to a Nazi concentration camp where they died. The diary of the little Jewish girl then disappeared but was found later on. It was published and became a best seller throughout the world. Then the Diary of Anne Frank was adapted into a stage play by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett. The play's first night was at a Broadway theatre some time ago. Now it is played on many German stages too. Now the Diary of Anne Frank is played at the Munich Kammerspiele'. Christa Keller in the part of Anne Frank with Horst Ruschmeier playing the part of Peter van Daarn. The young man is the intimate friend of Anne Frank in the garret
