Nov. 11, 1963 - The London Opera Center Begins it Career as a training Ground for young Opera Singers: The London Opera Centre has now begun its career and is functioning as a training centre for young opera singers, coaches, and as a rehearsal stage for the Covent Garden Opera Company. The centre was formerly the premises of the old Troxy Cinema in Commercial Road, Stepney, once a favourite of the dockers and their families, which has now been converted, and taken over by the Covent Garden Opera House, and sponsored by the Arts Council.
