May 05, 1972 - Schoolchildren on a one day strike take part in Protest Demonstration outside County Hall, London. The power-pupil schoolchildren called for a one-day strike today from about 70 London schools. The militants are demanding abolition of school uniform, and a ban on caning and detention. Many of the schoolchildren gathered outside County Hall. Photo shows two schoolchildren carrying a banner bearing the words No to the Cane in Hyde Park today
