Dec. 12, 1953 - Scotland Yard investigate Wembley murder. The smashed up telephone. Scotland Yard detectives are today investigating the brutal murder of 42 year old Mrs. Beatrice Elizabeth James whose shattered and stabbed body was found at her home in Second Avenue, Wembley last night alongside the battered telephone she is thought to have tried to dial 999 on when attacked by her murderer.
