Scout cars stand ready for Dutch farmers demonstration
Sep. 09, 1961 - Scout Cars Stand Ready As Dutch Farmers Hold Demonstration. A group of Dutch farmers, called the Free Farmers, have been organising protests against the Government's Agricultural Commission. The President of the group, Mr. Koekoek, has refused to pay a levy and the Commission has decided to take over a piece of his land in lieu. A demonstration was held by the Free Farmers near Epe and Swolle in Eastern Holland. At one point, armoured scout cars were called up in case of trouble, but there wasn't any.
