Dec. 12, 1975 - A sculpture of Christ in female form by the grand daughter of Sir Winston Churchill; A sculpture of Christ in female form has never ever been seen before anywhere in the world but one does exist in a studio in London. It is the newly created work by Edwina Sandys, grand daughter or Sir Winston Churchill. Edwina is well known for her paintings, but she has now taken up sculpture and her lady Christ supported on a temporary cross is Gallery in New York on the 17 February. The sculpture takes the form of a female figure with long tresses with head bent sideways. There are no nails, no crown of thorns, just a girlish coronet. Miss Sandys said it is nothing to do with women's lib just her interpretation of women's suffering and this was the basic way of depicting it.
