Sculpture of Christ by Verrocchio discovered in Hungary

Jul. 15, 1964 - Hungarian Art Historian Discovers a Statue of Christ by Verrocchio: A statue of Christ in Budapest was considered the work of an unknown Italian sculptor of the 15th century.Dr Jolan Balogh, Art Historian of the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest, Hungary, made a comparison of the statue and other works by Verrocchio and succeeded in establishing the fact that the statue of Christ was the work of Verrocchio. Originally the statue was the central figure of a sculptural group, with kneeling angels on both sides. Investigations show that these are now in a museum in Toledo, Ohio, USA.
