Nov. 11, 1957 - Marguerite Saegesser - Exhibition in Munich: For the first time are pieces of the Swiss sculptor Marguerite Saegesser exhibited in Germany - at the Galerie Wolfgang Gurlitt from 14th of November till 10th of December 1957. The artist born in Bern in 1922 first made herself acquainted with the work of a mason before she started her studies with the well-known sculptor Milo Martin of Lausanne. Later she studied in Rome several years, stayed for a long time in the United States and visited the workshop of the British sculptor Henry Moore which was of greatest importance for her.
