Sculpture by Niki de St Phalle, exhibition in Hanover

Apr. 17 Hanover Exhibition 26.4-4.5: You can also find Niki De Saint Phalle represented by her work. The French sculptor whose Nanas are internationally known, has now shown that she can also produce them in small scale, although she still prefers to make gigantic ladies. She has made a small porcelain Nana for Rosenthal's Object line, continuing their series of small modern sculptures. Like all Nanas (always variants on the theme of the great mother), this one is cheerfully painted, the colouring is intuitive, but also symbolic. The little monster loses thereby some of its latent terror
