1961 - Gift of Epstein Sculpture To The Nation.. Placed At Edinburgh Gate Entrance To Hyde Park. The Gift of the Epstein Statue group - presented to the nation by Property Tycoon - Mr. Herbert Samuels - was placed into position at the Edinburgh Gate, at Bowater Entrance to Hyde Park, London. The group of five bronze figures was Sir Jacob Epstein's last great work and consists of a man - a woman - a boy - a dog and a faun. The theme is escape from London into the open spaces of the park'.
