Search for Martin Bormann, former Nazi official
Sep. 09, 1960 - Martin Bormann Reported Held. Arrest In Argentina: A man - arrested in Argentina under the name of Walter Flegel - may be Martin Bormann - Hitler's deputy - according to a disclosure by the Minister of the Interior Dr. Alfredo Vito. The man is said to have most of the physical characteristics of the missing Nazi, although he only appeared to be about 48 years of age - and Bormann - if alive - would be 60. The arrested man has only one arm - but Bormann could have lost an arm in escaping from Berlin - or later. Photo shows Martin Bormann - Hitler's Deputy. Has he been arrested in Argentina? NB: Bormann was said to have died in the ruins of Berlin 15 years ago, but his body was never found, while other reports said that he had fled to South America. [It was finally confirmed in 1973, on the discovery of human remains, that Bormann had died in Berlin in May 1945.]
