Oct. 10, 1960 - The man the authorities thought was the notorious Martin Bormann: A sensation was recently created throughout the world by the statement by the Argentine authorities that a man believed to be the notorious German Nazi Martin Bormann Hitler's Deputy had been arrested. The arrested man was later proved not to be Bormann but to be a Walter Fiegel. (Bormann was said to have died in the ruins of Berlin 15 years ago - but his body was never found - while other reports claimed that he had fled to South America.)
