Senator George McGovern, election campaign, New York

Nov. 11, 1972 - Democratic Candidate for President Senator George McGovern make the traditional late-campaign visit to New York's garment district. He spoke to a crowd of more than 20, 000 people. On the platform were Mayor Lindsay, former Mayor Robert Wagner, International Ladies Garment Workers Union Chief Louis Stulberg, former ILOWU National Democratic Chairman Jean Westwood. Senator Edward Kennedy closed what McGovern called the best rally we've had at any place in this campaign
