Senator Hubert Humphrey arrives in New York

Feb. 28 Idlewild Airport, N.Y. May 19 -- Senator Hubert Humphrey, (T-Minn.) chairman of the Middle East Sub Committee of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, is shown on his arrival here today via TWA from Madrid. He has just spent a month visiting military and economic aid officials, and heads of government, In Italy, France, Egypt, Israel Greece, Lebanon and Spain. Senator Humphrey said he was impressed by the work of voluntary agencies in aiding the hungry and destitute people in the countries he visited. This People to People approach, rather than government to government, is one of the most effective instruments of foreign policy we have, he said. The early application of the Eisenhower doctrine has been, in the main, helpful, he added
