Apr. 23, 1964 - Floodlight on Shakespeare. Today is the 400th Anniversary of the birth of William Shakespeare, and to commemorate the event, Westminster City has cleaned and repaired the statue of Shakespeare in Leicester Square, which is the only one of him in the area, and as a final touch, the statue has been floodlit. Photo shows the statue of William Shakespeare lit up by floodlights in Leicester Square
