Sheikh Mohammed Ali Jabari, Mayor of Hebron

Aug. 24, 1971 - Sheikh Mohammed Ali Jabari mayor of Hebron in Tel-aviv; Sheikh Mohammed Ali Jabari Mayor of Hebron, was the first west bank Mayor to go to a formal tour of the city of Tel-aviv. Sheikh Jabari first came to the Tel-Aviv municipality to meet the mayor of Tel-Aviv Mr Pinhas Rabinowitz, when Mr Rabinowitz outlined the city's problems and accomplishments to the visitor. Then he visited Tel-Aviv University and expressed the hope that an Arab University would be founded in the West Bank. He visited also the New Tel-Aviv Museum and at the end of his visit invited Mr Rabinowitz to come to Hebron on a visit. Such visits are essential to removing ill-will between Arabs and Jews, he said
