1957 - Vessels for the Royal Navy ready for Breakers yard biggest change ever in Military policy.: Many big ships of the Royal Navy including H.M.S. King George V and her sister ship H.M.S. Anson and H.M.S. Duke of York are among the many lying at anchor at Gareloch on the Clyde ready for the breakers yard.
