Sep. 09, 1975 - Mr. Roy Jenkins is pelted with flour bombs at a London meeting in support of Mr. Reg Prentice: Mr. Roy Jenkins, who as Home Secretary is responsible for law and order, faced rowdy disorder and was hit by a flour bomb at a meeting in support of Mr. Reg Prentice in London last night. The plans for new racial laws announced by Mr. Jenkins led to the attack by a couple of women who were angry with Mr. Jenkins for not curbing immigration when there is high unemployment in this country. The scene was at Newham Town Hall where the Home Secretary was speaking in support of Mr. Reg Prentice, the moderate Cabinet Minister, whose local Labour Party executive at Newham has sacked him as an election candidate.
