Shots fired during Trooping of the Colour, London
Jun. 06, 1981 - Youth fires six blank shots at the Queen during trooping ceremony: As the Queen was riding down the Mall for the Trooping the Colour ceremony on Horse Guards Parade on Saturday, 17 year old Marcus Simon Sargeant fixed six blank shots at her from a replica pistol, making her horse Burmese bolt for a few yards before she got it under control she then carried on for the trooping ceremony. Sargeant was arrested and appeared at Bow Street Court today charged under section Two of the Treason Act, 1842. Photo shows The Queen gives her horse Burmese a soothing pat after she had got him under control after the shooting on Saturday
