Dec. 19, 1967 - Guyanese descendant Thackerey has to teach against his will because he could not find a position in his own occupation in London. He is teaching in the notorious North Quay Secondary School in London's East End. He takes the task of education the undisciplined, wild teenagers in stride. The great Sidney Poitier embodies this role in his new film To Sir with Love
