Feb. 29 Munich, West Germany: French Director Patrice Chereau reconstructed the Prague Trial 79'; Sometime ago in Paris famous French stage-director Patrice Chereau and Ariane Mnouchkine of the French Theatre du Soleil founded the relief organisation AIDA in favour of persecuted artists all over the world. Now, last Saturday (9.2.80). Chereau reconstructed the Prague Trial 79 in Munich. Based on the protocols given from memory by the families of the defendants, the performance has been a reading with cast parts (No staging, emphasised Chereau) - French actors Simone Signoret and Yves Montand, the expatriated Czechoslovakian writer Pavel Kohut, German film director Volker Schlondorff and a lot of other artists. The reading - a human political solidarity-action for the signer of the Charter 77 arrested in Prague prisons was taped by German and Austrian television stations and will soon be broadcast.
