Aug. 08, 1970 - Sir Alan Herbert celebrates 60 years with Punch; For sixty years Sir Alan Herbert has contributed to Punch Magazine. Today marks the anniversary, and to celebrate what is believed to be the longest period any writer/journalist has written regularly for one magazine. Punch presented Sir Alan with a cheque written on the side of a cow. (This was one subject in his famous series of Misleading Cases). It was signed at the St Paul's branch of Barclays Bank. Photo Shows The cow, which is called Pettings Regent Alan, loaned for the occasion by dairy farmer, Mr. C.M. Stoneham, Pettings Court, Wrotham, Kent - being led across Cannon Street to the bank today
