Dec. 12, 1953 - General Robertson arrives for Strike talks: General Sir Brian Robertson, chairman of the Transport Commission, left his Gloucestershire home for London this morning on the 8.42. from Stroud with one aim: to avert the national railway strike timed for midnight next Sunday. Sir Brian is to meet his colleagues on the Commission and explain to them the views. Alan Lennex Boyd, Transport Minister, put to him on the phone yesterday.
