US Director Of Music Will Attend All Major European Festivals: Consuls of six European countries today met Mr. James Fassett Director of Music for the Columbia Broadcasting System to hear details of his forthcoming trip to attend the major European Musical Festivals and make a series of 23 weekly broadcasts. The schedule includes the Santa Cecilia Orchestra of Rome, Leopold Stokowski as guest conductor at the Academia di Santa Cecilia. (May 31), Maggie Musicale of Florence performing Media (June7) The First International Festival of Bergen, including the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra (June 14-21). Sibelius Festival in Helsinki (June 28 to July 5th), Holland Festival at the Hague, Scheveningen, and Amsterdam (July 12-19) Berkshire Festival at Tanglewood, Mass USA (July 26 to Aug 16), Salzburg Festival (Aug 23-30) and the Richard Wagner Festival in Bayreuth (Sept 6), Edinburgh International Festival of Music (Sept 13 - Oct 4). He will also see the Highland Games and make a word and sound broadcast.
