Sep. 29, 1970 - London's Ne Lord Mayor: At 54, London's new Lord Mayor, Sir Peter Malden Studd, M.A. is the Youngest to hold that office since Sir Frederick Hoare in 1961. He is also Probably the most travelled man to elected Lord Mayor for many years. He has visited, worked, or fought in over 20 countries and thinks internationally. His Uncle, Sir Knyaston Studd, whom sir Peter refers to as Uncle Kynie was lord Mayor of London De La Rue who (among other things) prints passports, stamps and banknotes. He is governor of several school's is chairman of Florence Nightingale Hosipatail and county President of St. John's Ambulance Brigade in Surrey. A Distinguished sportsman, he captained Rugby and cricket at Harrow and Cricket at Cambridge, being a member of the Hawks club I Zingari and the MCC. Inspite of his mant interests he finds times for gardening, fishing, croquet, shooting and sailing.He lives with his wife, Angela and son, Dermot, at Esher, Surrey.
