Feb. 02, 1964 - Merchant of Venice to go on tour: The British Council are taking a version of Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice on a tour of South America and the continent. The leading parts will be played by Sir Ralph Richardson and Barbara Jefford. Before leaving they will be appearing at the Theatre Royal. Brighton. The play is being presented in celebration of Shakepeare's 400th birthday anniversary.
