Mar. 03, 1979 - British Ambassador to Holland shot down as he leaves his home in the Hague: The British Ambassador to Holland, Sir Richard Sykes, was shot down as he left his home in the Hague this morning for the British Embassy. A gunman step as he was leaving shooting the Ambassador hitting him in the chest and in the mouth, and also hitting his butler. They were both rushed to hospital but they died later.
