Jun. 06, 1955 - British Ambassador Sir Roger Makins (center) conferred decorations on 54 American officers and men on behalf of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, during a ceremony at the British Embassy. The awards were made to Americans who served with the British Commonwealth Division in Korea. Heading the list are General Matthew B. Ridgway, Chief of Staff, USA, former United Nations Commander, Far East (second from right); General mark W. Clark, USA (retired), also former Commander, united nations Forces, Far East; General Otto O. Weyland, USAF, Commander, tactical Air Command, and former Commander of the United Nations air Forces, Far East (second from left), and General James A. Van Fleet, USA (retired), former Commander of the U.S. Eighth Army (left). generals Ridgway and Clark were named Honorary Commanders, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.), and Generals Weyland and Van Fleet were named Honorary Knight Commanders of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (K.B.E
