Mar. 03, 1955 - Industrial health and safety center in London the thermophile heat-reflecting suit: The Minister of Labour - Sir Walter Monckton this morning had a preview of the industrial health and Safety center in Horseferry Road, Westminster which he is to open this evening. it is an exhibition of safety clothing of all types. photo shows Sir Walter Monckton is interested in a Thermophile heat-reflection light weight non-inflammable suit which is coated with a thin layer of aluminium foil at the exhibition this morning. It gives a high degree of protection against radiant heat - tests having proved that 95% of the incident heat is reflected from the wearer. The helmet is fitted with splinter-proof mirror glass which prevents the transmission of infra-red rays. This type of clothing is designed for use in iron and steel works etc
