Sir Winston Churchill and Malcolm Miller schooners
1968 - S.T.A. Schooners Sail Together For First Time: Sir Winston Churchill and Malcolm Miller the Sail Training Association's twin 300-ton topsail met in the Thames Estuary today before proceeding up-river 11 days. The schooners were under sail off Southend this morning, and continured under sail on their journey up-river to Gravesend, where they will moor for the night, The schooners leave Graveend tomorrow, and are expected to arrive at Tower Pier in mid-afternoon. Each schooner is crewed by its usual complement of 39 trainees, under the direction of the Captain, volunteer officers and a small permanent crew.
