Sir Winston Churchill schooner at Dartmouth

Aug. 08, 1967 - The Admiral goes to Sea again in a lesser role: The supernumerary officer who was seen yesterday being rowed out to the Sail Training Association's adventure schooner Sir Winston Churchill at Dartmouth, is not without seagoing experience. He was Admiral Sir Charles Madden, who has been variously C-in-C, Home Fleet and C-n-Cm Eastern Atlantic Area; C-in-C Plymouth; Flag Officer, Malta. Sir Charles is assisting the ship's new master, Lieut Commander R.L.M Willoughby, on a cruise with 40 trainees in Glasgow.
