Small scale Statue of Liberty in a Tokyo street, Japan
Jul. 07, 1976 - One More Statue of Liberty in Tokyo Several Statues of Liberty have been put up in Tokyo in recognition of the US Bicentennial celebrations. The best of them so far is outside a department store which is 1/5th in size to the real thing and weighs 20 tons. The statue is 12 meters high, and made of steel and plaster. It took 10 sculptors 1 1/2 months to make, from a blueprint supplied by the US Embassy in Tokyo. The statue cost 10 million yen (4, 000)
